General Prevention Resources
Office
of Safe and Drug Free Schools Online Courses: A series of (free)
online prevention education courses for K-12 schools. These 17 courses
offer rich staff training opportunities on bullying and truancy
prevention; promoting school connectedness; gangs; reducing underage
drinking; managing classrooms effectively; and the relationship
between academic success and prevention.
Prevention
Research Center: The Center aims to promote the well-being of
children and youth and to reduce the prevalence of high-risk behaviors
and poor outcomes in children, families and communities.
Promising
Practices Network: The PPN site features summaries of programs
and practices that are proven to improve outcomes for children.
All of the information on the site has been carefully screened for
scientific rigor, relevance, and clarity.
Social
Development Research Group: A nationally recognized, interdisciplinary
team of researchers working to understand and promote healthy behaviors
and positive social development among children, adolescents, and
young adults. Publications, PowerPoint presentations, and other
prevention resources can be found on this site.
