2013 Cross-Districts Learning Event
On November 13-15, 2013 approximately 85 participants in CASEL’s Collaborating Districts Initiative came together in Nashville, Tenn., to share information about their progress in implementing social and emotional learning (SEL) districtwide and to plan for the future. The theme of the meeting was “Sustaining Momentum.”
Each of the eight participating CDI districts sent a team comprised of administrators, teachers, and members of the community. The agenda was structured so that all the participants had opportunities to interact and share information while also working as district teams to incorporate ideas and strategies from the event into their long-range planning for SEL implementation.
The Cross-Districts Learning Event was planned by a committee made up of leaders in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), district consultants, and CASEL staff. CASEL especially appreciates the ongoing support of its board of directors, NoVo Foundation, the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust, and the 1440 Foundation. All have made a strong commitment to the CDI.
Our special thanks to the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools for their leadership in planning and organizing the event.
